Nicole earned her B.S. degree from the University of Florida in Psychology (Go Gators!) and then went on to earn both her M.A. and Ed.S. degrees from the University of South Florida in School Psychology. She has worked as a Certified School Psychologist in school settings for over 25 years, serving children from pre-school up through high school.  She has also served children, adolescents, and their families in her private practice for over 15 years. She has extensive experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations, addressing many educational, learning, behavioral, and developmental concerns, such as Specific Learning Disabilities, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Developmental Delays, and Intellectual Disabilities.  She also provides Gifted Evaluations.  Additionally, she has extensive knowledge of the state of Florida’s Policies & Procedures for Exceptional Student Education, Individualized Education Plans, 504 Plans, and the Multi-Tiered System of Support Services/Response to Intervention (MTSSS/RTI) process.

 

She received her Certification from the Center for Mind Body Medicine (CMBM) and leads CMBM groups for students, parents, and professionals, teaching evidence-based self-care techniques for reducing stress, enhancing wellbeing, and building resiliency.  She also received her Certification to teach Youth Mental Health First Aid from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing and has taught hundreds of public school employees skills to help children and adolescents experiencing mental health challenges, addictions, and/or crises.  

 

For close to two decades Nicole was closely affiliated with the Broward Association of School Psychologists, serving both as Vice President, Treasurer, and as the Chair of multiple committees. Additionally, she serves on the board for the Passport to Peace Program, a not-for-profit foundation dedicated to creating more compassionate, tolerant and respectful school climates around the world through the implementation of the Passport to Peace Program. She was named Staff of Character for the School Board of Broward County, the 6th largest school district in the country, and she has been recognized by the Broward Association of School Psychologists with the Anita Grinn Award, to honor her involvement in the greater community through her efforts to help others through service and volunteerism.

 

Nicole has two sons whom she adores.  One is attending FSU, one is attending UF, and she is beyond proud of her house united.  In her free time, she loves cuddling with her dog and cat, exploring the world, spending time with family and friends, and going to concerts, shows, and sporting events.
